What's New

Opened in December, 2008, Drew House is the first Family Alternative to Incarceration program of its kind in the nation. The house, named to honor D.A. Hynes’ mother, is home to five families. This groundbreaking new program will offer some women who have been adjudicated in the Brooklyn Criminal Court system and who face significant prison time the opportunity to complete the mandates required by the Court, while living in an apartment of their own with their children, instead of being incarcerated.

By offering permanent housing with intensive supportive services, the goal is to prevent the fragmentation of families which so often occurs when a mother is incarcerated. Families will receive the support necessary to both reduce the trauma experienced by the children and provide their mothers with the tools needed to achieve stability and economic security.
